What a Week!!!

WOW what a week!!! Last Wednesday, my love collided with someone during softball, then hit the ground head first. Needless to say, he experienced a severe concussion, and we rushed him to the emergency room. They did two CT Scans and let him go, even though he didn't know the date, the year, anything. I was NOT a happy camper, and was actually quite rude to the hospital staff--that's me for ya. Well, he didn't get better. His headache didn't go away, he was having blurred vision and nausea, and got dizzy every time he stood up. Saturday I was getting a bit freaked out, so we took him to St. George to their ER--good thing we did! He ended up getting ANOTHER CT Scan, which showed some abnormalities... so they did an emergency MRI and it ended up just being a callus on the brain which is fine. More rest will do the trick, so they say. His head still pounds and he gets a bit dizzy, but he will recover just fine!

So yesterday I went to the Spine doctor in Las Vegas for a consultation. Turns out my back is worse than anyone thought, and I have a 2cm disc protrusion, so he is going to do surgery Monday! Less than a week away--they even bumped someone from the schedule to fit me in. A bit scary, but the thought of pain relief completely outweighs the nerves in my case. I'm excited to be able to sleep pain free and not wake up every few hours... excited to be able to sit in a car for more than an hour without being in excruciation pain... excited to possibly be able to dance again!!!

Focus on Fitness Weight Loss Challenge

Well, Machele and I have joined the Black Gaming Focus on Fitness Weight Loss Challenge. It's a three month weight loss contest! Our team name is the Phat Busters. So far, in the first two weeks I have lost 8 pounds. Now that's a lot for me, especially seeing how I can't work out due to my back!!! I cut out hard alcohol and sweets, and I've lowered my portions and caloric daily intake. It's been hard, but I'm pushing through it so I can win the prize! First place gets $750, which is awesome especially right before the holidays. Hopefully if I do have to get the back surgery, I can still be in the weight loss challenge and continue losing the weight. I want to get down to 110 pounds, which is what I was a year ago, before our wedding.

Wow... September already??

Well I am pretty much caught up with updating my blog... and now I can't believe it's already September. One more month and I'll have been Mrs. Gomez for a whole year! Time sure flies when you're having fun, and I've had more fun this past year than ever before!
We get asked every day, "when are the babies coming?" We don't know yet :) we just know, someday. Until then, we have lots of babies/kids to spoil, including Danie'l and Jamie's new babies, and of course our future Godson, Eliyas. Love that little boy so much, he is my snugglebaby.
So much excitement in the upcoming months, with babies and birthdays and wedding and our anniversary and Halloween and... oh well, the list could go on and on!!!
I've been keeping myself really busy lately with my sewing machine. Who knew being creative could be so much fun? I've been making baby blankets, bibs, and now I'm onto these really nifty fabric keychains that go around your wrist so you don't lose your keys!!! Pictures to follow of my creations!!!
